They are raising their adopted sons Andriy and Petro, who have been blessed with Chalice sponsors. Oleh earns a small income working at the post office, and Zorayna manages their small farm and poultry barn, which supports the family's diet. Their home is small and in poor condition.
Zorayna, 41, has suffered from asthma for five years, relying on an inhaler to ease her attacks. But this autumn, her attacks became more severe and frequent, with symptoms occcurring daily and throughout the night. When she started having chest pain and severe shortness of breath, she was hospitalized. Her doctors determined that her oxygen saturation had been depleted by her asthma. Low oxygen saturation means it places her at high risk of respiratory failure and other complications, which can be fatal if left untreated.
Her doctor told her she needs an oxygen concentrator she can use at home to support normal blood oxygen levels. The cost of the machine is $1,556.84 CAD which is roughly triple what the family must live on each month. The Ternopil sponsor site has therefore requested the support on Zorayna, Oleh, Andriy and Petro's behalf.
