Gray Jordan’s stroke recovery treatment, Bulacan, Philippines

In May 2024, Gray Jordan felt dizzy, and his blood pressure spiked to a critically high number. Rhea took him to their community health centre, and then the hospital. Gray Jordan had had a stroke.

He was hospitalized for five days. The doctors stabilized him and he remained coherent and alert throughout. He responded well to the medication while the medical team kept a close on eye on him. Finally, after five days, they felt he was in stable condition to recover at home. They discharged him with eight prescription medications. He will needs ongoing therapy, medicines, and follow-up checkups.

His stroke and immediate hospitalization generated out-of-pocket medical bills of $2,014.58 CAD. These include his cranial CT scan, room charges, his specialist consultation (and follow-ups) and all his medicine – both in the hospital and going forward.

His family does not have savings to pay for his hospitalization. The Bulacan site staff have therefore requested these urgent expenses.
