Andrea is a former colleague of our Arica sponsor site staff. She has endured a very difficult couple of years, which has taken a serious toll on her health. 

Constant pain in her abdomen and lack of energy means she can no longer work. From May to June, Andrea went to the emergency room three times with severe abdominal pain. Over the course of the three urgent care visits and a separate ultrasound appointment, Andrea’s doctors diagnosed polycystic kidney disease, uterine fibroids, gallbladder issues, and ovarian cysts.

In addition to medication to treat her conditions, Andrea also needs to follow a strict diet of nutritious foods. Andrea’s former team-mates at the Arica site knew of her financial situation, and knew that this medical emergency, and the funds she will need to recover her health, are far beyond the family’s means. The Arica staff have therefore put forward a request to pay for Andrea’s medical bills, medication, and a six-month supply of nutritious foods. The total budget they have requested is $ 1,711.57 CAD.
