In early May, after everyone had left for the day, a fire broke out at Fritzon’s house. Fritzon is 14 years old and lives with his parents, Vanise and Fritznel, and his two siblings.
Vanise supports her three children, the youngest of whom is still a baby, with a small business she runs from the house. As the sole provider, she is grateful that Fritzon has a Chalice sponsor supporting his studies, through the Haiti South sponsor site. The family has lost everything in the fire, left only with the clothing they were wearing that day. Vanise lost her entire business. The Protestant church is temporarily housing Fritzon and his family in a room.
Upon learning of the fire, the Haiti South sponsor site created a plan to help the family to recover from this disaster. Over six months, the Haiti South team will help them rent two rooms and equip them with housewares, furniture, and essentials such as kitchenware, mattresses, and clothing. The site will also support them with supplemental groceries for six months.
This six-month recovery budget comes to $2,047.55 CAD, which includes rent, beds, mattresses, tables, clothes, shoes, food, cooking utensils, a stove, and school materials and uniforms for the two school-aged children. Your support will help this struggling family overcome this tragedy and rebuild their lives.
