With Mother’s Day quickly approaching, we wanted to take the time to thank and honour all of the mothers around the world that selflessly love and nurture their children. This week, we’re sharing our top 5 photos of moms that we’ve gathered from our sites! These love-filled photos showcase the incredible bond between moms and their kids.
#5: Splish splash, taking a bath!
At many of our sites in India, families and communities receive support through our water projects in order to access clean, safe water for cooking, drinking, and bathing. Some families also receive soap and hygiene supplies through sponsorship or our gift catalogue! This mom from our Madurai site in India is giving her little girl a gentle bath. We love the sincere look of wonder on mom’s face!
#4: Snuggles with mom
This mom and son from our Tondo site in the Philippines sure aren’t shy to show their love for one another. Marisa works at a nearby marketplace selling items to support her family. Her little boy is always eager to tag along! This sweet embrace between the two is so heartwarming.
#3: Sweetest smiles
For children without moms, the love of aunts, grandmothers, godmothers, and caretakers is a truly special gift worthy of a Mother’s Day shoutout. The Sisters from our Neema site in Tanzania dedicate their time towards lovingly mothering orphans in need of care. We think this precious moment is a picturesque example of motherly love!
#2: Snack attack
These moms from Ukraine are helping their daughters enjoy a beautiful Easter meal. Thanks to sponsorship and other donations, sponsored families are able to enjoy and celebrate Easter together, an incredibly important holiday in Ukraine. The little girl on the left’s face is all lit up with Easter (and snack time) joy!
#1: Never too old!
Fedelin and his mom Madeline from our Haiti North site were able to construct their very own home thanks to the hard work of students fundraising in Regina, Canada. Fedlin shows you can never be too old to show your mom some love!
